As we celebrated Independence Day yesterday, I saw a lot of quotes attributed to our Founding Fathers. They were certainly inspirational leaders, weren’t they? They laid out a vision of a new future of independence, explained why it was necessary, crafted a plan to achieve it, and inspired many to fight for it.

Here are some quotes to consider about inspiring leadership today:

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. -John Quincy Adams

The more you inspire, them more people will inspire you. -Simon Sinek

Leadership is based on inspiration, not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation. -William Arthur Ward

If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea. -Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Are you an inspiring leader? In what ways?
