Here is my monthly round-up of five leadership articles for your enjoyment and learning. Follow the links below to be inspired and, perhaps, challenged. Consider sharing with your team members and leadership peers. Ready? Grab a cup of coffee, get comfortable and keep reading.

1 – Inc.com offered valuable information about “The Psychological Price That 45 Percent of Leaders Pay.” Depression, stress and anxiety are very real problems that, unfortunately, carry a stigma that leads many away from seeking treatment. What can you do? Start with this article. And, be sure to click the links for more useful information.

2 – Who is the worst kind of boss? The Washington Post reported that “The Worst Kind of Boss is Not The One Who’s Always a Jerk.” Surprised? Hint: Predictability is key. Read the article and see if it matches up to your worst boss experience.

3 – How can you elevate the quality of your leadership? This next article offers ten tips to do just that. “10 Seconds to Take Your Leadership From Good to Great” on Inc.com reminds us of the most important basics, such as sharing a compelling vision, demonstrating tenacity and courage, being humble, strategic and fair. Read more about each of these, and the rest of the list, and reflect on how you can apply the list to your own leadership behavior.

4 – Dealing with opposition from your team can be challenging. How can leaders decipher damaging negativity from the opposing view necessary for innovation? HBR.org provided great guidance in “How To Handle the Naysayer on Your Team.”

5 – We all learned about the three “Rs” back in elementary school. Here’s an updated list from Inc.com, the ten “Rs” of leadership. Discover the “10 Action Verbs That Define a Great Leader” and make sure to put them into practice. (And, yes, they all start with “R”!)

Well, that’s the March top five. What article would you add to the list? Share a comment and let me know.
