Thank you Thursday
Last week I made my final college tuition payment. Yesterday I bought my last textbook and my last campus parking permit. On Monday, I will start my last class in my last semester at Otterbein University.
Today, I am thankful for endings that are also new beginnings.
There are all kinds of endings. Too often, they can be tragically sad. The end of a friendship, the end of a life, the end of a marriage. Other times, endings can move or inspire us. Think about the end of a good movie, the end of a great book, the end of a powerful speech.
Most of the time, endings can also be the start of something great. The end of winter brings the beginning of spring. The end of a medical treatment can be the beginning of a healthier, longer life. The end of a job may be the beginning of a new life direction. The end of school might be the beginning of a new sense of personal achievement and confidence.
