This is a great time of year for people like me – a baseball fan and a fan of the New York Yankees.  There are a lot of very famous quotes from Yankees players and coaches on teamwork, effort and winning that are certainly applicable to the workplace.  For a change of pace, though, here are some lesser known Yankee quotes to consider.

The ballplayer who loses his head, who can’t keep his cool, is worse than no ballplayer at all. -Lou Gehrig

I want players to look neat and responsible. Maybe it’s old school, but it’s kind of neat when people are always clean. -Joe Girardi

You play the game to win the game, and not to worry about what’s on the back of the baseball card at the end of the year. -Paul O’Neill

Let’s go Yankees! (OK, had to sneak that in!)

Tuesday Tidbits are weekly messages I send to my leadership team. They are generally short & sweet, often focused on leadership or teamwork, always positive and, hopefully, motivational. I hope you also find some meaning in them.
